There is a ball park down the way from us called Big League Dreams. It's really cool. Inside it has 7 different fields all replicated after poplar Major League fields. Such as; Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium. We had heard all about it and driven by it many times but we hadn't been inside yet. But on this night there was going to be a fire works show along with bounce houses and lots of other family fun. So we were excited to check it out.
The only thing is that you could not drive and park there. You had to drive to the Football stadium down the street from us, park there and take a bus over. You can imagine how fun that was for us to do with three kids and all the junk they require. Poor Brian rode all the way there with the double stroller on his lap. But the kids LOVED riding the bus. So it was worth it.
The girls waiting for Daddy to get back with the grub.
How Much more American can it get? Corn on the cob at the Baseball field while waiting to watch Fireworks.
All around the fields they had a ton of those blow up slides set up. The girls had so much fun on those things.
There they go.
It took Ava awhile to go through the maze part and make it to the slide. First Brooke came down and I thought, "ok Ava will be here soon..." and she wasn't. Then kids that had gone in after her started to come down. I started to get a little worried. Just as I was getting ready to go in after her, she came to the top with a huge smile on her face and slid down.
After we played on the slides for a good while we headed back to our blanket to watch the fire works. Here's little Parker Boy watching his first fireworks show. He loved it. I was surprised he didn't even cry. He just sat and stared.
After it was over we sat around and waited for the line for the bus to clear out.
While we were waiting the girls ran around like little crazies because they had a little too much cotton candy. Above is a picture of the girls with our new neighbor, Miles, or "Mr. Miles" as the girls call him. He was running around with them. He and his wife Jessica met us there to watch the fireworks. We love them. We have so much fun with them. How lucky are we that we moved in next door to such a nice family?
After we had waited for awhile we figured the line for the bus had to of died down by now. Boy were we wrong. It still really long and hardly moving. We stood in it for awhile then Miles said "Why don't I just run back home and get our truck and come back and pick you guys up?" It really wasn't that far away, no more than a mile or so. So off he ran and we stood in line highly doubting that he would get back before we got on a bus. By the time he called to tell us that he was on his way to pick us up we had only moved about 5 feet in the line and there were still hundreds of people ahead of us. We were impressed and very relived that we would not be standing in that line for the rest of the night with the kids.
One funny thing did happen when we were in line though. While we were standing their waiting, Ava started playing with a little girl her same age that was standing in line in front of us. We didn't really think anything of it because Ava is so social she'll play with anyone. But they kept calling each other "friend." The little girls Dad turned around and said "Hey, y'all go to our church! I recognize your sons helmet from seeing him in the child care!" How funny is that. So the whole time Ava and this little girl really did know each other and they really were "friends" because they're in the same class at church. Too cute.
