More Fireworks? Yes Please

Actual Date: Sunday, July 3, 2011

Now that Ava was feeling better we decided to go to some 4th of July festivities in the next town over.

All the kids were decked out in their Patriotic best.

I got this dress for Brooke at Gymboree during their $4.99 sale.  It was originally $49.99 and I got it for $4.99!

Winning!

I love when that happens.

There was fun slides for the kids to play on.

The girls LOVED this part.

But there weren't very many and we had to wait in line for-ev-er.  I thought we were at Disneyland or something.

After awhile we laid out our blanket and chairs and grabbed a spot to watch the fireworks.

The kids ran around and played but everyone was getting tired and cranky, including Daddy and Mommy so we decided to go back to the car and watch the fireworks.  We had parked on the top of a parking garage so we would have had a pretty good view.

As we started to walk we hear a loud bang what seemed to be right next to us.  We stopped and threw down our blankets to watch the show.

It worked out good.  I think we got one of the best seats in the house.

That was until a train went flying by about ten feet behind us.  He blew his horn and about scared all of us to death.  Everyone but Parker that is.  He got excited and started yelling "Thomas Train!  Thomas Train!"

Look Who's A Big Girl

Just to let you know,  I'm on vacation for the next MONTH!  So my blogging might be sporadic for awhile.

Actual Date: Friday, July 1, 2011

This day was a busy one.  All three kids had Doctor's appointments.  The girls just had their yearly check ups (no shots thank goodness!) and Parker had to go in to get his ears checked before we left for our trip.  The Doctor wanted to make sure they had cleared up.

When we got there we got quite the surprise.  Ava was running 103.6 fever!  She hadn't acted sick all morning!  The only time that I noticed anything might be wrong is in the waiting room.  She told me she was cold, but it was cold in there from the air conditioner.  She asked me to hold her and warm her up and when I did I thought "Hum, either I'm super cold and she feels warm or else she's running a fever..."

After we got called back they all took their turns getting their weight, height and temperature.  When we saw that Ava was running such a high fever we were shocked.  The nurse got her some medicine while we waited for the Doctor.

They swabbed her and apparently she had Strep.  Again!

Brooke's temp. was 99.2 so she went ahead and gave her a prescription too. The kids just keep passing it back and forth.  I've replaced all their toothbrushes and toothpaste, put them in separate cups in the bathroom.  Cleaned and sanitized all the toys, washed everything that was washable... The only thing I can think of is they keep getting it from their cups.  At least once a day I find one or more of the kids drinking their brother or sister's cup.

Anyways, Parker was on Antibiotics for his ear infection and now the girls were on one too so the Doctor said this should do the trick to get it out of the house for good.  I hope so!

After we went home the kids wanted to play outside for a little bit.  Ava told me she wanted to try to ride Brookie's bike.  I didn't think she would really be able too because I accidentally ran over one of the training wheels awhile back and it's really wobbly now.

But Aver's wasn't scared.  She hopped right on and took off.  She needed a few pushes to get going if she got stopped but I was really surprised with how well she did with it.

We only stayed out for awhile because I knew she wasn't really feeling good even though she wasn't acting sick.  And it was pretty hot out.  After we went in I gave them all baths and I made some dinner while we waited for Daddy to get home from work.

We had planned on going to our towns local fireworks show but by the time it was time to go Ava really wasn't feeling so hot again.  Or actually she was, she was burning up.  And she was really sleepy.  So just Brian and Brooke went.

They had a lot of fun too.  Brian took this picture with his phone and sent it to me.  When she got home she told me all the fire works and how fun it was.  She was super excited and wound up when she got home.  A little of that might have been from the Coke Daddy bought her...

Parker, Ava and I watched the fireworks from our back yard.  They weren't very far away so we were able to see them pretty good.  I actually enjoyed it.  No crowds to fight and as soon as it was over I plopped the kids down in bed and relaxed.

The Fun Has Arrived

Actual Date: Thursday, June 30, 2011
The fun has arrived!

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Marcia asked awhile ago if we would mind if they bought the kids a swing set for the back yard.

We thought that would be a great idea because there's not much for the kids to do in the back yard right now besides play with chalk and their water table.  They always tell me they're bored back there.

I have a feeling they won't be bored for much longer.  They are already having fun with it and it's not even out of the box yet.

Brian is going to put it together while we're in California.  That should keep him busy and out of trouble.  The kids are so excited that it will be set up when we get home and they'll be able to play on it.  Brooke's already been pestering me about planning play dates with all of her friends so they can try it out.

Thank you Grandpa and Grandma!
