Earth Day Excitement

Actual Date: Wednesday, April 20, 2011

We had a few exciting things happen this day.  The most thrilling thing was that my family was coming to visit.  My cousin Chelsea, her two boys and my Grandma to be more specific.

After we took Brooke to school I had the two little help me pick up around the house a little.

Here's Parker "helping" clean up the playroom.

A hour or so later we headed off to watch Brooke's school do their Earth Day Celebrations.

 Brooke and her friend Mia.

Her little knees were so cute.  They were all dirty from planting flowers.

 These flowers to be exact.

Her teacher took me to the side and said she was very impressed with how well she planted her flowers.  She said she was one of the only ones who knew how to dig the hole big enough and everything.  She said she also planted the most flowers; six to be exact.

I'm sure it's because the past couple weekends have been really nice so we've been spending a lot of time outside.  A lot of our neighbors have been planting flowers a Brooke offered help to both neighbors on either side of us.  I was hoping she was more helpful than she was interfering but they insisted that they would love to have her help.  So that is where she got the mad planting skills from.

She also said she has also blown away by her answers during Bible time.  She said one day during Bible time she asked the kids if they knew that God loved them and Brooke raised her hand and said "God wants us to love everyone, even if they're not nice to us.  We have to show them God's love because he loved us first."

That was a proud Mommy Moment.

It's so good to hear that she's actually absorbing some of the stuff we try to teach her.  And more than that it's more amazing to actually see her in action with her friends and people she meets because she actually lives it out.  Kids are so much more awesome than we give them credit for.

After they were done planting the little kids came out and the classes same some songs together.  They are so stinkn' cute!

When we were don't there we headed home to have some lunch.  Our family was going to be here any second!  Every time Ava and I heard something that sounded like a car we ran to the door to see if it was them.   After what seemed like 5 years, they finally arrived!

I was anxious to see how Parker would react to them because he hadn't see them since last Summer and even at that he was just a baby.

It didn't take him very long to warm up.

 Not very long at all.

After we picked Brookie up from school the kids played and played.  After bathies we all settled in to watch Tangled.  I think by the look on every ones face it's safe to say they ALL loved it.
