You may have noticed in the past couple post that Parker is not wearing his Doc Band. Part of that was due to the fact that he was running a pretty high fever for a few days and we took it off to try to keep him as cool as we could. And the other reason is because at his last appointment the our Technician told us that if we should notice any new red spots (where the helmet would rub) to just go ahead and leave it off because it was his last week. The band was starting to get too small.
So on this day we went in for our very last DSi scan. I can't remember if I talked about what a DSi scan is before or not. Basically it takes a 3D picture of his head. It gives you a really clear picture of the problem spots.
He gets to wear a cool stalking over his head to smooth it out. He likes to stick his tongue out and feel it.
After much discussion, and a denial of coverage from the insurance, we decided not to continue on with a second band. Even though you can still see some flatness in the back right lower corner of his head, our Technician told us that if he had come in looking like he does today, she would not recommend a band because it's so minimal. So that made us feel a little better.
So today is his official last Doc Band Day.
Today Parker graduates!
"Did you hear that Dad?"
"I even get my own diploma and everything!"
Thank you so much Cranial Technologies for everything you've done for us! Parker and his round noggin will be forever grateful.
However, this Momma is excited to be able to kiss that little noggin again!
And for it to smell good again.
No one told me that thing would stink that bad! Yuck.
Here is a link to a great video a fellow Doc Band Mommy made. You should watch it. It'll make you day. I love it!
